Summer sees our focus switch to Geography and our topic about Australia called ‘Down Under’. The learners develop their map skills, beginning with the world map, focussing on the map of the UK, looking at the region around Australia and then we zoom into Australia to see how it is organised into its States and Territories. We look at many aspects of Australia including mountains, weather, wild fires, the Great Barrier Reef, daily life, seasons, major Australian cities and much more.

We bake traditional Australian cakes in DT. In our artwork we focus on pointillism and move onto the dot paintings that indigenous Australians have made famous.
